I See That I Win March 2025
Six paintings created by Rubbena Aurangzeb-Tariq
Title for the series: I See That I Win (Vidoe Vincam in Latin)
Six Artworks Donated to Doncaster Deaf Trust (April 2025)
The title in Latin,'VIDOE VINCAM', is the original wording on the Doncaster Deaf Trust School logo which is thought to date back to 1829.
These artworks were created after Rubbena Aurangzeb-Tariq ran a series of workshops with Doncaster Deaf Trust School and College students. She captured their vision and energy which reflected the educational establishment that is Doncaster Deaf Trust.
The abstract paintings need you to explore your own interpretation of them. They give you the freedom to find new meanings and opportunities through your eyes.
The maps of Doncaster, within England, lead you to a greater desire to explore the world should you wish to, knowing that many deaf people have to travel to gain lifetime friendships, relationships, and opportunities.
Doncaster Deaf Trust has an important and long standing history, having been established in 1829. The Latin words on the logo, Vidoe Vincam, which means ‘I See That I Win’, became the title for this series. This strong, vibrant environment is inclusive; it encourages you to engage, to talk, and to experience a feeling of mindfulness because you are pleased to have benefitted from an education which opens the doors of opportunity. With time, without rushing, you can move towards freedom to follow any dream you can. You too can See That YOU Win.
